Hello, and welcome to the very first entry in The Pupsteps Journal.
I’m so happy you’re here.
When I started creating Pupsteps, I didn’t want to build just another habit tracker. I wanted to create something gentle a place where progress is celebrated no matter how small, and where people feel supported rather than judged.
This journal is where I’ll be sharing the story behind Pupsteps. You’ll find development updates, new features we’re working on, reflections from my own life, and hopefully a little encouragement along the way.
Why We Added Shared Memories
One of my favourite additions to Pupsteps is Shared Memories.
Many apps focus on streaks, levels and statistics. While those things can be motivating, I wanted Pupsteps to remember something even more meaningful moments.
Your first day together.
Your first completed journey.
Your first gratitude reflection.
The little milestones that tell the story of your growth.
Sometimes, when we’re having a difficult day, it’s easy to forget how far we’ve already come. Shared Memories is there to gently remind you that every small step has helped shape your journey.
Welcome, Dalmatian!
Our little Pupsteps family has grown with the arrival of a Dalmatian.
Adding new breeds is one of my favourite parts of development because everyone connects with different dogs. I love giving people more ways to choose a companion that feels personal to them.
The Dalmatian won’t be the last addition either I can’t wait to keep growing our little pack together.
Better Support, Better Communication
I’ve also been working behind the scenes to improve how support works.
If someone reaches out with a question or needs help, I want them to feel heard and supported. Building trust is just as important to me as building new features, and I’ll always keep looking for ways to make the experience better.
Apple… We’re Nearly There!
One of the biggest milestones is getting closer every day.
Pupsteps is already available on Android, and now we’re working towards bringing it to Apple devices too.
It’s taken a lot of learning, testing and patience, but seeing everything come together has been incredibly exciting. I can’t wait to welcome even more people into our community.
Life Outside of Pupsteps
Alongside building the app, I’ve recently finished Year Two of my Forensic Psychology degree and I’m currently waiting for my results.
I’ve also been taking part in compassion-based therapy, which has been teaching me a lot about how we view ourselves and our progress. Like many people, I’m still learning every day.
As someone who is neurodivergent, I’ve realized that growth doesn’t always happen in big dramatic moments. Sometimes it’s simply getting out of bed, completing one task, or choosing to be a little kinder to yourself than yesterday.
Those small victories deserve celebrating too.
Looking Ahead
This journal will become a place where I can share what’s happening behind the scenes, the lessons I’m learning, and the future of Pupsteps.
Thank you for being here at the very beginning.
Whether you’ve just downloaded Pupsteps or you’ve been following the journey for months, or you’ve simply stumbled across this page, I’m so grateful you’re here.
Until next time, remember:
Small steps are just as important as big ones. Every step forward counts.
